Introduction and Course Outline

Drama 10/20/30
Course Outline

Introduction

The goal of Drama in school is to help students develop an understanding of the processes and elements involved in creating works of dramatic art.  In learning about this process one of the aims for this course is for students to acquire increased knowledge and understanding of others, themselves and the world.  Imagine the magnifying glasses that Sherlock Holmes used.  Imagine one is labelled “Science” and one is labelled “Math”.  Imagine a number of these magnifying glasses with numerous different labels.  Each one represents a way of investigating the world.  One of these glasses is labelled “Drama”.  As human beings one of the way we make sense of our world around us, is through drama.  Drama can show us the human condition and the conflict that comes from just being human.
