In this lesson, we are going to look at two methods of acting taught by Konstantin Stanislavski and Lee Strasberg. They focused on a realist style of acting. Both asked actors to think of how characters would behave in a consistent manner. If the actors could understand the characters in such a way, the actors could predict how their character would react in any given circumstances. Moreover, the actors would look at a scene and think about identifying the given circumstances in the scene and how the character is situated in the scene by asking:
- Who is present?
- When is it happening?
- Where is it happening?
- What is happening
- What has happened?
- What might happen next?
